Your Daily Driver / Other Cars ?

Just this old grandma car, 3800 V6 with an Eaton M90 from the factory. Pic is from late 2022, it's got some paint peeling from the hood and roof now sadly. About 1000 miles shy of 200k on the odometer right now. Got it for $1200 about 5 years ago, been wanting to get something newer/better/Japanese for a while but it just keeps chuggin along. That's what happens when you decide to have a wedding you pay for yourself, oof

Is that a Park Ave? I had one of those that was a rental from Enterprise back in 2004. Wife and I drove it from NC to FL. I was getting worried that the gas gauge was broken.....lol. Most comfortable car I've ever driven and got GREAT gas mileage.

Yep, 2000 MY. The fuel senders tend to go bad on those quite a bit, I just went off the "fuel used" feature in the dash to get an idea when I needed to fill up until last year I had to replace the fuel pump, now the gauge works again. It is extremely comfy and quiet for sure, I need that in a daily driver to help me relax after a stressful day at work.

The N/A ones get a good bit better mileage due to having higher compression ratio than the supercharged ones as well as slightly shorter final drive ratio which helps city mileage. I can get 23-26 mpg on a long highway trip depending on how flat the terrain is but around town is pretty horrible, more like 14-16. I also have to run premium gas especially in summer which is on average $1.00/gal more expensive than regular. At least gas in this part of the country is cheap, regular tends to be around $2.50-2.90/gal. In the winter I can get by running mid-grade due to the much lower intake air temps. I have an HPTuners access port and software on an old laptop, I've played around with ignition timing tables and trans shift scheduling and firmness to squeeze out the most efficiency I can from that old boat.

My daily driver is a 2006 toyota corolla ce 5 speed manual with the 1.8 1zz-fe. (it has a MILLION documented miles on it.) and my dad bought it new. It got its only clutch a few months ago. It is a RIOT to rip around in since I put Nitto Nt05 semi slicks on it.

My other cars are more weekend duty for fun or errands
1993 Dodge d250 with a 12 valve. Kind of funny; but this is the quickest vehicle I have because the duster is getting rebuilt now. It only has a fuel pin and governor spring but It hauls ***. It has beat many new trucks and some new cars from stoplight to stoplight racing. Also a riot to rip around.

The other truck Is my 1964 Ford f-100 with its original y block and 4 speed. I just take this one cruising and exploring every once and a while.

Really dig the ‘64! I’ve had one ‘64, and two 65’s in the past, but being MN vehicles their whole life, none of them were that clean.

Nice!

Thanks! has one pinhole in the bed and that is all the rust in the truck. I've tried to find rust but there just isn't any. basically a miracle.

Currently my daily driver right now is a 2000 Toyota Camry with a 2.2 4 cyl engine. It's pretty solid and is much better on fuel than my other daily driver.

The other daily, which is broken, is a 1994 Ford Bronco. It has a 5.0L V8 with GT40 heads, a lighty ported lower intake manifold, an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, ignition timing set before it pings while making the best vacuum, and long tube headers with dual exhaust, which I need to replace again.

Snow day and night.jpg

The vehicle that gets the best fuel mileage in the fleet is my 2009 Tomos Sprint. I added two ammo box saddles to carry my stuff and sandwiches. Just for going around town and to the stores for small things here and there, it's perfect when the weather is good.

I'd love to have a 1st-gen Cummins like that. So much lighter than the later trucks, probably why it's so quick for not having much power upgrades.

66 Belvedere I 2dr sedan
95 Dakota reg cab short bed
96 " " " " "
97 Ram 2500 diesel Club Cab LWB
2022 Chevy Colorado Z71 4 dr....came with the wife when we got married a year ago.

Main daily driver is the Jeep liberty. Amazing good vehicle. We drove one that looks identical to this, except 4whl instead of two, for over 200k, motor gave up around 315k. I got this one for a thou, no motor, but I had a spare, so put this one on the road- two years ago averaging about 25k a year. Then I got my wrangler- I Have had it since 2017, bought it with a blown D35 axle, replaced them and been putting miles on it since- I just flipped the 250k mark, bought it with 125k on it. Then I have my 92 cummins as my farm truck, use it lots too.

My other cars are...
The 1967 Barracuda Fastback (273-2 Automatic) that I've had since 1985 (Grandparents purchased new) was my daily driver from 1985-1990

Next up is a 1969 Dodge Polara 500 Convertible (HP 440, Automatic) one of 573 convertibles that year, one of 4 know to have the HP 440 (probably were only 4 made)

Last is a 1967 Barracuda Convertible (340 Automatic, was 225 Automatic) that I got from @mvh in 2022

The reality is they are all my daily drivers. The Polara is getting ready for its first long haul run (1000 miles).

Is that tomos a 2 speed like the silver bullets of the 80's?

Those were just about the cadillac of mopeds back then.

This motorcycle I have had since 1989, I bought it while my Z1 was down with 1800 miles on it for 1800 bucks- I paid a buck a mile for it as I said then. It now has over 200k miles on it! 1985 V65 Sabre, wicked fast, super comfortable riding position. Would jump on it , ride it from Alaska to Key west and back, Rode it from Prudhoe bay to Mexico city one summer. Now semi -retired in Hawaii. The bike, not me.

My Z1 I have had since 1982. It's in the process of it's third frame off restore now. This time it is a 1200cc, pretty trick motor should be making north of 150hp. Frame reinforced, custom built swing arm by me, 120mm tire up front, 160mm out back. Full period correct piece of racing when I am done. The other pics are of me and my V65. Rode it year around in Alaska with studded snow tires. The Z1 was built in the 1980s, with full mono-chromatic look of the 80s LOL.

Dang. Looks like I'll be passing my 06 Corolla on to my daughter. It is just 9 miles away from turning 40,000 miles.

This 05 Ram has been my daily driver most of the last 20 years. It has about 145,000 miles on it.

I had 2 V65 Sabre Hondas, neither one of them managed to make it more than a week without breaking down. They literally spent more time in the shop than on the road. I will admit they were very impressive performers and comfortable to ride.

145k is nothing.....my 95 Dakota has 106k but it was treated really bad but my 96 has 144k but was treated very well....same with my 97 diesel showing 140. Treat them right and if they are good early on, they will reward you.

On man, LOVE the 60!!! Really liked the early 60 Pontiacs! My first ride in a fast car was in a 62 Cat with Tri Power and 4 speed. That car hooked me but found out how fat (heavy) they are lol. Btw, the 62 was driven by my cousin.....a girl and she knew how to row the gears! It was a 'wow' ride for sure.

Oh yeah, it's a two speed auto. Moves along pretty well with my fat a$$ on it, but could be better if I lost some weight.

My '00 Dakota R/T has 177,000.

It's borderline abused/neglected and used "like a truck".

EDIT- it is the most dependable vehicle I or anyone I have ever known has owned.

I don't really have a "daily driver" because I have worked at home for years, and sometimes don't drive anywhere for a week at a time. But my two cars are:

1967 Barracuda fastback, 273 Commando, column shift auto, manual steering, manual disc brakes, bench seat. My father bought this car from the original owner in 1977. Body restoration in 2022. 240K miles, engine rebuilt in the late '80s..

1966 MG MGB. I bought the predecessor of this MGB in 1988. By 2014 it had been hit 3 times, and the bondo-encrusted rust-riddled tub was deemed impractical to repair, so I found a long-term garaged roller project and rebuilt it from the ground up, using the running gear from the old car, completing it in 2018.

I am not totally dependent on vintage iron for transportation, however. My wife has a 2001 Toyota Echo (2dr, 1500cc, 5spd) that is an amazingly dependable workhorse and gets 41mpg. And it actually has A/C and a CD player! Well, maybe 2001 "is" vintage... I suppose.

My truck is my crappy weather daily driver. The Duster is my decent weather daily driver. The Challenger gets like 6mpg so it's just a cruise night/fun car. Then the wife's JGC.
