You'll be really close to Farmington Dragway and Rockingham Dragway. Good Mopar shows at both places! Be safe with your move.

Good to know, are they like show+race events? I went to a few Mopars at Thunder Mountain events at Bandimere Raceway (RIP) back in CO, I definitely prefer events where the cars are doing more than just sitting on display lol.

Yep, both have race, show, swap meets. Mopars at The Rock happens twice a year, Spring & Fall. Farmington is put on by The Piedmont Mopar Club and is always in early May. The dates are usually posted on the websites of both tracks at the first of each new year.

Welcome to the Charlotte ratrace (Traffic). I'm not much a big city guy, but it is what it is. Our kids are all here, so that's what brought us here. It is a nice area in a lot of ways. Been here in Statesville, 64 east towards Coolspring. Just past Grey Rock Trucking. Moved from Pa. Retired from Manitowoc Crane. Have met some cool people at some of the meets and such. Car still sitting in garage. '69 Dart GT.

Good to have you here. You're maybe 30-45 minutes from the best Mopar show in the Carolinas, at Farmington Dragway. It happens every year in May. You can check Farmington Dragway's schedule on their website at the start of 2027 to see the dates. Nice Dart! Did you build cranes or operate them?

I've been to Farmington and Rockingham both since moving here. I started in Oct. '78 welding frames. From there to turntables, jibs and booms. Eventually a supervisor in most areas. ISO 9000 inspector. Before retiring I was supervisor of the test track where we tested all cranes before going to the customer. I operated also and had my CCO license.

Congrats on retirement. I've been retired since 4-1-23. I've had some heavy stuff suspended from a Manitowoc crane several times in my life, so thanks for doing a good job! I was a lineman for Carolina Power & Light for all of my adult life. I worked in the transmission crew from 83 thru 87, and when we hung new air break switches, we assembled them on the ground and set them on the structures all in one piece. We had a GREAT crane operator. If you asked him to raise or lower a half inch.....that's what you got!

Wife and I are (mostly) moved in now, got a place on the NE side of Charlotte, just off 485 on the edge of Concord. About 10 minutes from the Speedway and zMax

I got my Duster up here and some of my tools and parts but most of my car stuff is still back in GA, will hopefully be bringing it all up in a few car loads over the next month or so.
