Siphon the gas and drop the tank.Takes less than a half hour.
Strip all the paint off the tank. Who paints their tank anyway ?
Get a new gasket,reinstall tank. Take the time and do it right.
Here is the kicker. Never fill up your tank in these old cars. You are just asking for trouble.
Put in about a half tank at the most. This will prevent gas from going where you don't want it.
