I have a set but you also need to replace the valves. The keeper grooves are cut lower to keep the top of the rotators the same height.

So would I be better off buying aftermarket retainers? How do they deal with that?

So I went out to the shop to see the difference in the valves. I do see what you mean and it got me wondering what the machine shop did to accommodate the comp cams springs and retainers I had them install on the last set of 360 heads I had done? Certainly they didn'the swap out the exhaust valves and not tell me. Or maybe they did?

Having rebuilt too many engines, I'd wager they just popped them in and let you run them. I've seen a lot of really stupid stuff, I'd check if you can. The rotators mainly came on trucks and vans, did your other heads have rotators also?

I don't remember. But it's a pretty reputable home town shop. I don't THINK they would do that. But I will be pulling a valve cover to verify! Doveryai, no proveryai.
