Hello all,
Been bust during this lockdown trying to get my Duster back together. I have 2 different center sections, one a 3.91 sure grip and the other a 3.55 open. Both are 741 cases.
I wanted to take the sure grip from the 3.91 and put it with the 3.55s. The 3.91 pig was in rough shape, I found it in a barn awhile back. Once opened up I realize it had some corrosion inside and 2 of the springs are broken. I cleaned up some of the hard parts and there is very minor pitting but better than originally thought. The cones are in good shape and not bottomed out, no wear at all on the ends of them or the case. No machining required.
As I'm out of work right now I'm trying to do this as cheap as possible until things get back on track. Is there a source for replacement springs? I've checked Dr.Diffs website but don't see them.
I'm hoping to get this pieced back together with some fresh springs and bearings. Worst case I'll just throw the 3.55 open in for now and change it out later. Thanks.
