71 scamp 3400#s, 10.5 keith black hyper pistons, stock x-heads with dual springs, headers, built 727 with reverse valve body with deep pan, ss springs, mini-tube, frame connectors. 90% drag racing 10% street. no wheels or tires yet. (suggestions)
looking at mp mechanical 284-284-60* valve lift .528" intake and exhaust, centerline 112* (1.5 or 1.6 rockers?)
thanks 340 mopar

P.S. trying to beat brother-in-laws 64 ss nova running low 12s

That cam works really well in a 340. Depending on intake, it will easily go 6500 and more.

Make sure you have plenty of gear and converter.

I think I may have a brand new one I may sell. I'm actually going to pick a cam this weekend for my 340. If I don't decide to use it would you be interested?

340mopar, welcome aboard.

That cam should do you into the 12's, no problem. I'd rather the 296/.557/110 cam. Alot will be in engine and chassis tune.
Run the 1.6 with upgraded springs for 563 lift. I'd also port the heads. Also, a 4.30 gear and 27 inch tires as wide as can be fitted in.

Loose weight! Behind the bumper is the steel bumper designed to take the impact. Drop 40+ lbs. there, re-attach the chrome bumper with washers for spacers so it goes back where it was. A fiberglass bumper would be better. Front and rear.

Move battery to the trunk.

Welcome....and that 284 M.P. mechanical is a great cam!

Back in the late 70's early 80's, i had a '71 340 Duster, with that cam in the
STOCK short block, cleaned up heads (no port work) Edelbrock intake, (Victor i think) 750 Holley, 4:88 gears, 4000 Vitar converter and Super Stock Springs it would run 11:80-90's at 113-114 mph.
