I am installing the quarter glass in the 70 Duster. The glass is new with a new seal. In cleaning the frame assembly ,I noticed it had some sealer on the top part of the frame and some weather stripping on the lower part of the frame.I went to mock up the assembly on the car .When the window is sitting in the quarter panel there is a gap of about 3/8 inch. The questions is what type of weather stripping is needed on the frame?Do you need to put some type of weather stripping on the quarter frame as well? How thick does it need to be. It has been a long time since I took the car apart.Any help would be much appreciated.

On mine, the factory used a white foam seal that started from the top corner of the window and ran down around the pointy part where the latch is. Then there was a glob of dum-dum to fill the gap between the quarter and that rear lower edge of the frame.

When I rebuilt and reinstalled my windows I used some 1/2" gray self adhesive foam weatherstrip from Lowe's (actually says its for automotive use on the package and his fairly high density) along the top of the frame to seal the window to the roof rail. Along the lower edge, between the frame and quarter, I used black butyl caulk-type weatherstrip. It comes in a roll with a paper backing and you can get it from auto glass shops. A guy gave some to me years ago. It's similar to 3M strip caulk but thicker and stiffer. It worked well to seal any gap between the window and body along the bottom. When you install the rear screw that holds the window frame in it will squish the caulk as needed. If you apply it right, it will not squish above the edge of the body opening.
