I trying to install the belt into the sleeve on my 65 Barracuda, but the the sleeves not very pliable so it's not going in. I tried a string, a screw driver and I even greased it up a bit, but it won't even budge! Any one know a trick to this?

Was a time when the kink in that sleeve would straighten out without it cracking.
Today , I don't know, very hot water may soften it so you can straighten it slowly.
Be prepared to pull the belt in with a wire before you begin to warm it.

soak in boiling water, may even put it in a large glass bowl full of water in the microwave and keep it hot for 10 minutes or so. Also, you may lube it up with some soap while pulling the belt in with a wire or something.

I finely got around to trying this and the hot water worked like a charm!

Thanks all

Perhaps you could try the old seat trimming trick. When retrimming a seat you can use the plastic that the new seat cover comes in to help with the install. You place the plastic over the foam and then slide the seat cover over it. Perhaps you could try the same trick here, place some plastic over the end of the sleeve and then slide it in.
