NEED HELP WITH TIGHT FITTING CAT WHISKERS

-
Ive been seeing more places that carry the TopCat brand of cat whiskers, including DMT. I personally have not used them, but have been reading good things about them.
Im gonna have to redo my whiskers when I paint my car, cause Im pretty sure they arent coming out without a fight and getting damaged, so Ill probably give TopCat a shot, even though Ive still got some left from PUI since I had to buy an entire kit just for my doors.
Who here has used this brand and can give a review? I think @dadsbee said he thought they were the cats ***.
I've got a complete set of Top Cats here for a Swinger. Hit me up via PM if you want to discuss.

BTW.......The Top Cat seem to have a flocked side and a rubber side as well.....

I bought "cat whiskers" brand for my 67 dart. Fit well no binding.

It looks like those have the flocking on the inside, and rubber on the outside as well. In your pic, it looks like the down window has the rubber pointing downwards. In my situation, when you wind the window up, the leading edge of the rubber flips upward. That flipping jams the window.

What does yours do when you wind the window up?

The outers on Cat Whiskers are formed the shape of an eves trough, so they don't roll up and down like the plain rubber wipers.

It's not the best photo but the glass side has felt on it.

From the door skin the rubber is attached to the chrome strip. The rubber initially points down then makes a almost 180 deg bend back up. The back side of that bend is what is in touch with the glass and it is flocked. All that happens is the glass slides past it.

green is the glass
red is the shape of the outer whisker
Blue is the outer door shell

the bottom of the red L bends up as the glass moves up and stays that way as the glass slides down

Heres my setup, first pic shows window down, and like @Dana67Dart said, the shape of both whiskers are kind of U shaped, and arrows show where there is flocking on both inner and outer whisker, second pic shows window coming up, and the whiskers compressing, but not rolling

Thanks for the input everyone. So it looks like the outer retains it's u shape going up and down?

The ones I have installed are just straight pieces of rubber like a squeegee and flip back and forth.

Looks like I need a new set. :(

I need to replace mine on my Duster, what method are you guys using to attach them, as it looks like the clips are unobtainium?

On mine, the clips are part of the sweep. Not sure on the post 1972's (your avatar looks to be 73 or 74).

I wonder if he's talking the front clips that hold the vertical "flock" on leading edge of door windows? But yeah like u said the clips are part of the "sweeps".
What kind did u buy Troy?

Not sure what kind I have. Sounds like a set from Year One from what others are saying. I will get a set of Top Cat as the folks that are using them seem pretty happy with them.

I couldn't find a listing at Nigel's? Do you know if he carries them.

Yes, I got mine from Nigel, I asked him to notify me when they were in. The mfg i think does runs of them, then stops making for a while?

Hi, my Duster is a '73. I didnt realise the clips were part of the sweep, as when I was looking previously at the DMT website and it said the following:

1973 73 1974 74 1975 75 1976 76 Dart Sport, Duster

These are the flocked covered strips that attach to outer door shell and guide/wipe the door window.

Note: The inner seals are functionally similar to the originals but do not clip on like the originals. No company on the planet makes inners that clip on. That original clip on profile has not been manufactured in 20 years. These new inner pieces will need to be attached by screws, rivets, adhesive, etc. If I hear any good info on attaching these I will share it here. If thats unacceptable then please dont purchase.
