Never had the cowl off the Barracuda . I hope the wiper linkage is easier than the 1977 Dodge D-150 . I was buying the bushings , two in a package & had to go to several stores to get them and replacements for the ones I messed up . Found these on EBAY . Cheap price for 10 bushings , $6.99 .

10x Windshield Wiper Transmission Linkage Bushing For Chrysler Dodge 3799089 | eBay

Guess I assumed wrong about the Barracuda linkage and or bushings ( what ever they are ? ) .

Just be glad you don't have to mess with those bushings on the Barracuda. I have a 1974 Duster that has those type bushings and they are a pain. Everything is got to be done working up under the dash. I don't know what year they changed over but I know the 1969 Dart doesn't have the plastic bushings.

Congrats on cuda fixed! Maybe start a new thread on your wiper bushings? It would get more looks. You are not alone in the bushings are SUPER tight. I read that some have tried soaking in hot water and have also poked a tiny hole to allow air to escape when squeezing together? Pics of bushings you're using?
The blind hole was the easiest part to squeeze together . Trying to get the outside of the bushing pushed through the larger hole in the steel arm was my problem . That is where the two needle nose vise grips came into play . You have to get the steel arm hole over the hump in the bushing and into a groove to hold in place .

67 cuda bushings are unique, not the same as your truck at all.

Guess I will find out what I have . Since the Barracuda is 10 years older than the truck & no problem so far , I will have to wait & see what is going on in the Barracuda . Under the cowl or dash sounds like a real pain either way .

Glad you’re back and your Barracuda is running again! You can always hit ignore for the people that are overly blunt and rub you the wrong way, but most of them do have good advice.

Glad you got it up and running again and good to see you back. Most people here are genuinely happy to help, but there's always going to be a few bad actors.

Well , I had not really looked into the Barracuda wiper problem , if there is a problem . The cowl is made & soldered to the roof . It does NOT come off . I tried to put my hand under the dash and that would be 10 times worst than the D-150 . So , I will have to leave it alone & use Rain-X to hopefully lesson the wear on the wiper linkage .
Looking on EBAY , I think the plastic bushings are for 1973 & forward . That covers my 1977 Dodge truck . I do not see bushings for my 1967 Barracuda . Now , I will have 10 bushings as spare parts for my truck . I assumed to much , thinking all Chrysler products used the same bushings . Live and learn !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can only think those bushings were installed before any of the dash components were installed . I already have a broken speedometer . I can live with that . I never drive on the interstate , only local at 35/45 mph max .!!!!!!!!!! I have read that these are magnetic & more trouble to remove without damaging other gauges . I was getting a screaming noise which sounded like the hole for the cable was stripped out & cable was spinning around doing nothing . The needle was bouncing around all over the place . Sometimes stuck around 120 mph .

If you decide to do anything on the barracuda pull the front seat, 4 nuts and your life will be so much easier.

As for your barracuda very little likelihood that you will need to do anything. If you do not have AC they are easy to access. And you can remove the clips and linkages in about 5 minutes. The pivots are brass so other than cleaning and lubing not much to do.

After watching the video I would be pulling the wiper pivots out and putting the assy together on the bench then I stalling. Probably unbolt the wiper motor pivot as well.

That you say you have an uncomfortable twist in the linkage, maybe the link is on backwards?

He took an hour to install his bushings and I took 8 hours . It would have helped if I had removed the linkage . Still not sure I could do it that fast ????????

I will try running the wipers & see if it jumps out of alignment . If no problem , I will leave well enough alone . I will probably forget how to do it if the bushings last over 2 or 3 months .

No A/C in the Barracuda , but it has the center console for automatic transmission . I will get some parts , just so I can be ready if needed for a wiper problem .

Got the wiper replacement parts for my 1967 Barracuda ( right ) and 1977 Dodge D-150 pick-up truck ( left ) . Hope I never have to do either of them .

I appreciate all the help from the Forum members getting my Barracuda back on the road again .

I just pulled the wiper assy from a 67 barracuda and a 67 Dart, neither had the 3 black plastic parts. Also 2 other 67 Darts I have don't have the 3 plastic parts either.

I was also going through some of my stash of parts and found those same 3 plastic parts that I had purchased, they might be 68 up but not 67

The 67 has brass inserts in the ends of the connecting rods, 2 oil soaked felt disks and the round clip.
