This is the stock paint on my 74 dart. Anyone know where I can find the color number so the paint shop can match it?

If that's the so called Dart in your avatar it's FE5 or E5. I'll check to make sure that's the proper # for 1974.......

Red is E5 and that chart has a bunch of different manufacturers paint mix numbers. You could also look for a PPG code too. TPC global has all the paint charts for our cars on their site.
The paint shop should have all those charts.

they can't find a tag.

Would be nice to have the tag, for other reasons. But if it's factory red then it's E5. Back in the early 80s a co-workers wife had the same car, white top, white int, 318, column auto and rallye wheels. Very pretty car imo.
here is the challenger paints but it translates to all dodges.FE5 is the only red sooo....

Thats it. That's the color on my car, E5 it is. And I thought it was some hot Orange color.

I live near San Diego too and have been told the new paints will be difficult to match to the old laquer colors. Let us know how it works out for you.

If that paint is original it should be acrylic enamel, but i agree it would take some work to match if only trying to spot in a few places.

When I did the Dart all the manufactures listed E5 as "for full repaints only" Most likely one of the original toners is no longer available so the color match is pretty far off.

I compared this new paint to some of the original paint and it came out dead perfect. SOS is doing a great job and recomend them for anyone. They ship anywhere in the world.
The paint job looks great.
