I have a 74 duster that is having serious electrical problems. We have pulled out the entire under the dash harness and we need to completely by pass the seat belt interlock system because the control box is completely burned out. Also the care is having a MAJOR short somewhere and while driving every dies. And the neutral safety switch has never worked. I am open to all suggestions, comments, diagrams and so on

THANKS

You really need to get yourself a shop manual, either a reprint paper or "on cd"

I can post parts of the diagram, but the 74 wiring diagram is a lot more complicated to follow and to post than the earlier ones.

Is this a stick or automatic?

The sticks had a clutch safety, the autos had neutral safety. Both work the same. Both go to one of the two push on terminals of the start relay and ground it when in park/ neutral or when the clutch is depressed.

Also, you may have a seat belt interlock, which is easily bypassed. Refer to this thread:
