I'm planning on cranking my new motor and breaking in the cam this weekend. I currently do not have the neutral safety switch/back up lights wiring. My question is this, Do I need to ground the tab on the starter relay to get to it fire? or can I just leave it unconnected? Thanks

Sure, if you change "get it to fire" to "actuate the starter solenoid", and the tab you are talking about is the one that normally goes to the NSS. It would be real smart to not stand in front of the car when you do this, just in case it isn't in P or N.

Thanks guys. I fired it up yesterday (by actuating the starter solenoid :) ) She roared to life on the first try and sounds like one pissed off kitty. Unfornately, my fuel pump is bad so she only runs long enough to drain the bowls. I hope to fix that tonight, get the cam broken in and then get some video to post.
