Speed person with a car problem
Finally got my block back from the machine shop and mocked everything up. Everything looks as it should with port placement with these "good" Promaxx heads. The ceiling of the port is basically line-to-line with the intake on the two ports I could barely see. I can barely get in there with my eyeball with the intakes I have so I can't really get a picture.
I could inevitably see if you had the other "bad" casting how the port would mismatch the intake.
Curious if anyone could mock up onto a block to confirm.

Get the 318 port size gaskets and you'll have a winner I believe.
I don't think the intake will sit on those heads and have the bolt holes align.
The bolt holes look aligned to me. I think yours is different than the others. Maybe I'm wrong.
Bolt holes move the gasket well into the valley. That's not right.
You're right I'm sure.....I just somehow thought the others were different. Hopin you'd luck out with a gasket change. Oh well.

Measure the deck surface to the bolt holes. That will tell you if the holes are wrong. You can find measurements of LA heads earlier in this thread.
I have LA heads I can compare. when I get the time .. lol

Just ordered promaxx heads from summit. Man I hope I’m not dealing with same problems. I had 7 magnum heads checked all cracked find out Monday or Tuesday I guess

@Confuzed74 did you order the version with Magnum intake bolt pattern or with LA intake bolt pattern?

WOW , those head need a bunch of rework , so glad my eddy heads are right on port to bolt mounting locations , a friend built a big inch caddy motor , and had several pairs of heads that where machined wrong , from water jacks leaks to completely off mounting holes . he finally got a pair that worked and that thing is a monster of torque .

Magnum pattern. Have magnum rpm intake and using magnum front accessories. I’m hoping I didn’t screw myself by deciding on magnum stuff.
