a friend let me use his garage and lift yesterday so i could get the front end done in jamies dart. day started out bad. moving something and got sung by a damn bee right on the hand.. freaking thing thing is still swelled up.. anyway the dart tg came apart super easy. i was waiting for something to go wrong because it was so easy to pull apart..lol i think the hardest part was working under the dash with the brake pedal rod hook up..
everything went back together pretty good too. went with RMS upper arms and strut rods and just suspension 1" bars that i have had laying around for about 5 years now.. still have to run it up for alignment but i drove it home about 20 miles and the wheels was actually pretty damn straight, drove pretty straight but was a little twitchy, looking at how the wheels sit its understandable..
what a difference you can feel already.. even though the old drum brakes were all only a few years old and operated properly the disc just stop so much nicer. i think jamie will be a lot more comfortable and confident driving it now. and just turning a corner or cruising around a bend in the road it stays so much flatter then with the tiny stock bars and i don't have a sway bar yet..
hopefully i'll get it aligned this week. think the new wheels will be in this week then we need to paint them and buy tires for them. i also want to drop the rear height about two inches to make it sit like in these pictures when it has a loaded trunk.. with nothing in the car the floor to the rear wheelwell measurement is about 24". with the trunk loaded its about 22" and looks alot better in my opinion. down the road i'll figure out what sway bar i want to use and buy that too. for now it should be good though... some better shocks down the road too.
