Hey, my name is Zach, I just found this forum searching for things for my 68 Dart.

I'm 30, mostly mess with Nissans as I've been doing for over 12yrs, drifting at Englishtown and such. I've always had at least one hot rod or muscle car on the side. I have a 52 Merc with a worked SBC in it on the back burner right now, aside from a bunch of other projects.

I've had the word out amongst friends that I've been looking for a slant 6 Dart to make into a daily cruiser for a few years now. My dad had a 340 Duster when I was little and my friend and I used to cruise around in a 79 Volare in high school, so I've always had a weird love for Mopar.

Anyway, ran into an old friend the other day, he mentioned another friend had a 68 Dart 4dr he needed to get rid of asap. So I went to look at it, in it's sad, crap shape in his backyard where it's been sitting for 4 yrs. Surprisingly it started, but blew oil ALL OVER after a minute of running. He wanted $300 for it...and then just told me I could have it as long as it was out by Thurs. So I went back and grabbed it and trailered it home.

Came from the original owner, to my friend and now to me. Had tons of tools and receipts from 1969 in the trunk.

First thing was first, I checked the oil....and there was about 15qts of gas/oil mix in there. Changed that...then came the garbage Fram Oil filter that was on there, which was REAL fun to get off.

Got a new filter that was NOT a Fram, threw it on, car runs WAY better, but now I noticed the Holley that is on there is leaking all over like a *****. Guy I was talking to last night told me to toss the Holley and get a Carter for it. It also has a 69 Fender on the front right, NEED to get rid of that asap.

Check list now is:

Rebuild or find new carb.
Either cop car wheels or some old grey faced Torque Thrusts (already have LBP adapters).
Crank front torsion bars down a little.
Get a 68 Fender.
Drive it all summer and listen to lots of Anthrax in it.

Very cool project! I love the old Darts.

That thing will be a cool daily commuter and not be too hard on gas. Crank up the Anthrax and Megadeth!!

I'm south on Horseblock just past the Bowling Alley.

SBP steelies? Not off hand. My set is at a freinds house in Ga. It'll be a while before I could get them. LOL
