Hello,I'm old but new to hot rods. Been a motorcycle guy. I have a 68 barracuda,. We build a 496 stroker from a kit I got from 440 source. Currently running a pertronix vacume advance. Was told by a member here when he came and bought some parts at my house to join this group, and buy an msd with mechanical advance. He told me his name on here but I can't remember. Something with red in it I think. What msd will work well with a bb 496 stroker please. And thank you for having me.

Welcome aboard, hopefully the member you talked to will jump in knowing you was going to join in, this a great site, very helpful tecks here to help with anything they can, try another thread like Big Block tec information and do a search with what you need will get you started right away. Enjoy.

Old guy here from northeast Arkansas.

Thank you I'm looking around now

Ii think I saw one somewhere, I'm leaning for the whole msd set up. Just wanted some thoughts before I pull the trigger.
Does your car have a dist. at all? or are you just looking for an upgrade?
Is your car a 383 S vert? if so and you`ve been to Roy`s cruise in, I`ve seen your car and have talked to you a bit. I own the blue 52 Dodge business coupe. Good luck.

Personally not a big MSD fan with all the issue they are having. Look into the petronix 510 box mated with a curved factory mopar dist. Tons of other options out there. It will save you some serious money. Also are you just running it on the street usually? Driving habits are really what you want the ignition set up to.
