I've nothing but luck w/factory hyd roller lifters and morell solid roller lifters. . Idk about the rest. K800 springs.FTW.
Isky and Crower do not make their own lifters They get them from the other Johnson Back in the Day Isky had a Hyd cam for Vw's Discontinued when the lifter vendor wanted a 50,000 part minimum order now for the math challanged you can have a fast action .842 cam or spread the same lobe over .904 and have less load or you can add a little faster action to the .904 It's mostly during the middle of the lobe not the start or stop and start and stop is where most rapid action designs go wrong Like someone quoted Engle saying that Hughes wanted too fast an action so what to do make it easy off the seat, especially closing but make it faster on the flanks you can have what overall is fast action without open and close fast action Jones Motor Home cam is an example
I would say that nowadays, I doubt there is any brand of lifter that isn’t going to have some failures. This has probably always been the case, but 30-40 years ago there wasn’t any internet to access and get feedback from all over the world. If your friends and the people you knew at the track weren’t having problems with something in particular........you just didn’t hear about it.
Two brands named Johnson Isky and Crower use one as do some other quality camgrinders check out both websites
