Hello everyone,
New guy here — just joined the forum and wanted to introduce myself. I'm Jason and am 41 years old. Been into mopars from a young boy too finally owning my first a body. A 1974 Plymouth Duster factory 360 d21 4 spd hurst. My father was always into the mopar scence in his teenage years. He would always tell me stories about his mopars and racing from the younger days. So this played a big role in my love for 60's/70s mopars. I’ve browsed the forum a bit and already found a ton of helpful info — looks like a great community here. Looking forward to learning, sharing progress, and talking Mopar with everyone. I purchased this duster from a fellow member KZ1972 and now own this duster. Just got this car this past summer and have slowly been tinkering/ cleaning and detailing it lol. Just now got yet to be installed classic industries mm1815t gullwing rear spoiler kit organisol finish. Also just got the trim rings for the rally rims also needing to install. Got from summit racing Wheel Vintiques Trim Rings 3003-P-1. Also got yet to install OER Stainless Steel Wiper Blades 15339. Will be redoing the hood factory blackout stripes/hood treatment and dual snorkel hood scoop. Just unsure if to go flat black or satin yet to determine which route i'll take? Car is the factory 360 but has been bored .30 over and stroked to a 408. Rear end was also changed out to a 8/ 3 quarter with 3.73 gears. Also has Holley 750cfm carb, 3'' full exhaust from the long tube headers back to dual dynomax ultraflow mufflers. Has rpm cam and rpm manifold. Looking forward to sharing/updates on the car as well as asking/helping others anyway i can. Thanks all... :) :)

I started a thread years ago asking how many Duster 360 4sp cars were on the site and started a list. It included your car, back when it was owned by the guy you bought it from.

I will change the list to show him as "sold", but won't add your name unless you want it.

How many CURRENT owners of real '74 360 Duster 4 speed cars on here?

Great car j, welcome to FABO. I am in the home stretch of a restomod on my 74 Duster with a 5.9 Magnum and a TKX 5-speed. Hard to tell from the photos - did you tuck the bumpers in?

Duster360La beautiful 74. Very nice colour. Is that a rear window louver? I like that allot! Curious as to where you got that?

No my bumpers have not been tucked. Would like too/ that look. I think my front may be or is missing the bumper guard. Was already that way when i got the car from the previous owner...

I just got lucky on the louver. My neighbor out in the country came over to see my Duster as I was stripping it and preparing it for body work and paint. He told me he still had some parts in a corner of his barn from a Duster he used to have and that I was welcome to them. I wound up with the rare louver, a go wing, automatic consol, a fender and a trunk lid.
The color is B5 blue, but the car was originally red. There are lots of "how to" posts on tucking bumpers when you are ready.
Happy to share any of my experiences since I replaced just about everything on my car. I have a thread on my rebuild under the "member restoration" section.
Enjoy the process of working on your car (even the frustrating days). As I get closer to finishing mine, I already know I'll miss the work.

I was gonna say b5 blue. One of the nicest if not the nicest colour in my eyes. I wish i could find that louver or who made it or from. I really do seem to like that allot. Rare is a understatement as i have not/ can't seem to find any pics of dusters with it. I ran across seeing it before somewhere on a duster or demon. Would love to see a few more pics of it. I may have to search for one as i really dig it. If anyone has one or know info on it or where to get repo? Will be checking out your build as i love what i can see. :) :)

Thanks, my understanding is the louver was a dealer-only option from some of the Mopar performance dealers (think Mr. Norm's Grand Spauling Dodge) and no one that I am aware of reproduces them. That said, I have seen posts of people who make custome louvers and may be able to reproduce one.
If you find someone to do that, I would be happy to provide measurements.

Just read through your progress/ rebuild of your duster and is looking incredible. Very nicely done. Everything is super nice and done well. Liking everything allot. I didn't think anyone reproduced them. Original is always nicer though. Looking forward to seeing the car done!

Some of the options for this car is as follows. I even have the original broadcast sheet for the car. Factory rally red fe5, chrome door rockers factory, hood mounted turn signals factory, e58 360 4 barrel, d21 factory 4 spd hurst, factory white buckets interior, factory fold down rear seat, 3 speed wipers, factory glovebox and map light switch. So am thinking has a few options for being a e58 d21 car no?
