Hi Everyone,

Last had a green 70 Fury III, 318, 4 door when I was 18, in 1991. Chrysler vehicles are laced into some of my earliest memories.

Unbeknowst to me, until somewhat recently, my girlfriend's uncle had apparently developed quite a collection. My understanding is that he is known, by at least some, who are loyal to Chrysler products. More specifically, those from roughly the late 1950's thru the mid 70's.

When I wasn't looking, I'd come to learn that he had a few things left. I since have a 66 Barracuda S car and it's in need of attention. The car won't be dipped, cut, nor anything of the like. I plan to drive the car a lot, and simply make it look as if it were owned by someone who cared, and simply allowed it to age with grace. I will not be able to allow the car to fade away.

I'll be asking for opinions as I move forward and am pleased to see comments that welcome the outsider.

Dan

Wow! I can't believe how much I've forgotten and learned. Some of these conversations are outstanding! Can't wait until the weather breaks to go down to beautiful Tennessee and get some parts. Some of the exhaust, camshaft and gear ratio conversations have been outstanding. I've spent more time than I care to admit staying up late reading about E 4 cams, listening to exhausts, learning about 273 head gasket options, maintaining a compression, and how to select a gear ratio. Some incredibly talented & dedicated fellows here trying to maintain a piece of automotive history. I love reading about that little engine that could torch tire thru 1,2 and some of 3, can't explain it. Thanks

lemme see if I get the math right;
you were 18 in '91 meaning born in 73. ... which makes you about 52.
and you have a girlfriend.

I suggest that unless you are independently wealthy, that you give that car away, cuz;
yur gonna need every stinking dollar that you can scrounge up, just to keep your honey in the crib..
lol

Don't buy into the TV "myth" of the rear windows being expensive. I used to have the rear windows for the 1st gen, as well as the 2nd gen Barracudas, I kept them wrapped in blankets and supported so the didn't crack or break. I tried sell them 25 to 50 bucks a piece and couldn't give them away. One of our members from either NZ or Australia was here in the states and I gave him the 2 first gen and the 3 second gen glasses to be sipped back to his home country.
