A piston like that would make anything fly! The bottom ring groove is gas ported.

This piston is 5 3/4", It must be part of a rebuild kit. The wristpin is 1 1/4", the compression was around 5 1/2-1 and used 65 octane. The R-670k uses a 5 1/3" piston. I'm not sure which model of that engine this came from. I picked it up a few years ago from the guys at the airport.
