Starting a restoration of a friends 68 Barracuda and the floor sound deadener was still in the trunk. I have heard of it, but have never seen it.

Usually the sound deadener is attached to the trunk floor mat.

Was the sound deadener a option with the mat or was it standard ? The last 3 Barracudas I have done didn't have it with the mat.

Not sure if it was an option or not, and now not sure if it was ever attached. The Barracuda I currently have has it, and it isn't attached, and I'm sure the previous one had it as well. Looks like about 3/4" thick foam, right?

This one is a jute material heavy fiber, like you would find under the carpet

I've never seen it before. Looks like it would hold moisture.
