Well,

New guy here again. I just got done with ~ 4 days underneath the Dart. I am sore! @ 6'3", the lift @ my buddies shop doesn't quite go high enough, so I'm semi-hunched over under there.

Question: I replaced my stocker (GTS) .89 t-bars with 1" t-bars. We put paint on the t-bar adjusters, so we know where they "were", but that really doesn't matter with the new t-bars. (I also installed KYBs while I was in there)

The sucker was so high it looked like a straight axle gasser. I backed the adjusters off a total of 4 revolutions each, but it still seems high. It's 29 inches +/- to the fender, with 215/70R-14s. Also, I drove it ~ 8 miles home from the shop, so they should have seated etc.

Does that height sound correct? I am headed for a front end alignment next week, so they can set them up....just curious what others have experienced.

Pete

I bet it will settle more, and I always put them to where I like em the have it aligned.

I put new T bars on a couple of years ago. Set them, then drove 50 miles and reset them to the ride height I wanted. If they are still too high for you, back them off a couple more turns. I wouldn't mess with them after you get your alignment done.

what are the tbars from? if they are from say, a c-body they are indexed different. they fit but won't lowere the car bec they're made for a much heavier car. if they are mopar made then there should be a line cast into the rear end of the bar, at the end where the retainer clips go. as i understand it those lines should be verticle for proper indexing...just sayin what i heard.
my 1.06 bars are from firmfeel and dont have any lines, but they're made for an a-body and work fine.

adjust them to the ride hight you want. nomater how many turns it takes. just dont go out of the adgusters range. after the alignment if it should lower in time simply put it back where it was

Here are a couple lics of mine before/after. Same T-bar change from stock to 1.00 firmfeels, then turning the adjuster down, then a re-alignment.
