Hello All.

My name is James, and I recently purchased a MOPAR, first one ever. It's a 1973 Dodge Dart 2 door. I grew up a GM guy, building numerous GM A-Bodies in the garage with my dad. Mopars have always been inticing to me, considering I've always held the MOPAR brand to a somewhat of an "intimidation" brand. Basically, when a mopar revved on me at a stoplight, I wanted nothing to do with it. Anywho, I will be on here a lot, considering my Dart is a HUGE project. I purchased it for $500, the guy gave me a complete 318 (torn down), with a transmission (which I believe is a 904???) and a few extra miscellaneous parts. It is a complete project. I'm not too sure on complete plans yet, except the fact I need to get a whole new wiring harness from Painless Wiring (or equivalent), and that I want to build a 318 stroked to a 390, with a 727 Trans!! Thank you for taking the time to read this, and look forward to chatting with y'all soon!

Welcome to the other side James ! lol Now that you've gone Mopar there's no looking back ( Well maybe at the other guy you just dusted off the light lol ) . There should be plenty of people here to help you out when you need it on your new pride and joy .

Funny you say "Welcome to the other side." My old neighbor is an avid mopar enthusiast, and when he heard I had purchased a MOPAR, he said "finally gained some sense did ya, welcome to the darkside." One thing I have noticed thus far is that parts (both performance and NOS) aren't nearly as readily available as they are for GM. I went to the Summit Racing Warehouse in Reno/Sparks the other day, and wasn't able to find much for MOPAR. It's okay though, I'll find what I'm looking for :)

And no. Older mopar parts are hard to find - go to any swap meet and you will see miles of cheby, then ford, then a mopar guy!!!

So explore this site and you will find whatever you need!!

Welcome!

Check Summit online. I always find what I need. I can order as late as 8 or 9pm online and receive an email at 10pm saying that my order has shipped. Before 11am (usually about 9:30am) the following morning, the FexEx ground truck is in my driveway. Can't beat it and their prices are great. But them again you live in their neighborhood. I've got to stop in there one of these days driving through Reno.

Robj, Yes, it is basically in my backyard. I'm about 25-30 miles from there, I live in South Carson. With you being in Redding, I imagine you come to Hot August Nights quite often, since Reno is just over the hill from you... Has anyone done/have the 390 stroker from a 318 block, I've heard it's pretty stout, but again, I don't know mopar.

Welcome to the dark side! I second the Summit Racing being fast and always right with all my many orders over the years! And remember there are a lot of members here that might have what you need or want or know where to find it! So post some pics and ask some questions!

I'm looking to put a complete harness is because the previous owner(s) cut up the old one pretty good, and when I bought the car, the fuse panel was missing. I figure spend the money, get a new harness, install it myself and not have to worry about electrical issues.
