Just picked this up yesterday. It’s the wife’s new rig. Drove off on and off the trailer. Going to be replacing the Holley 1920 with a spare BBD/ super six set up I have. Will shift into every gear except drive, the button seems to be stuck. Definitely needs some work but we’re not planning on a restoration. Just getting it mechanically squared away and using it as a grocery getter.

I bought it off Jamie at Dead Dodge Garage so there is a YouTube video on his channel if any of you are interested.

I was working on the super six setup yesterday. The intake runners seem to be about 1/16 longer than the exhaust.

When I found the intake and carb that was it. None of the other bits or pieces. The exhaust manifold that was on the car had a couple of large cracks so I cleaned up one of my spares. After extracting all the broken bolts and fabricating a couple block of plates I held them down against a large block of uhmw (it’s the flattest surface around my shop) and snugged up the three bolts that hold the two together. The faces of the intake runners are firmly against the block, the exhaust has a gap.
I guess I’m going to take them to the machine shop and get them milled even. Have any of you run into factory manifolds of unequal lengths? I realize the production dates of the aluminum intake and iron exhaust are likely at least 20 years apart.

My goodness this is a cool long top
Are you positive the intake to exhaust is indeed together good, do you have the two bolted together at the carb base ??
AND IF i am reading this right you have an aluminum 2 barrel intake ? 1/16th of an inch can get wiggled out because of the long bolt going threw the intake to exhaust, loosen it (bolt threw the intake to exhaust) temporary bolt to engine and pull up snug, get a picture of the two mating area below the cab to exhaust matting area..
Going to try and fallow this page, welcome aboard and we have the best leaning tower of power techs here..
Dose this sound right what I am explaining @RustyRatRod

I t doesn’t look as bad to me this morning. I tend to overthink tolerances being more of a turbine and compressor mechanic. I think if I follow your advice and loosen the heat riser bolts, torque the manifolds to head then retighten the riser bolts it should be good. I’m using Remflex gaskets and they soak up quite a bit of misalignment.

Got the manifolds all mounted up. Now I just need to correct some fuel line issues, hook up the vacuum and PCV hoses and figure out a throttle and kick down cable set up. Been doing some research on here and slantsix.org

Meh. A few $$ and you could have it looking like this... I love the Dart Wagon. If I hadn't already bought my '74, I'd have gotten this one.
