next problem -not a great day

After opening and shutting the trunk 2 times today, went for a third to put groceries in and no go. The key turns and I hear a faint click but the lid won't release. When I rotate the key back to starting position and press down on the lid I hear what sounds like a latching click. I guess I'm lucky the groceries are not stuck inside.
 
got it! my custom trunk carpet was slightly caught in the mechanism They can be problematic at times but I love driving my old a-bodies! Carry on.
