1973 duster all original. went to start it and no spark any quick suggestions before i start to replace stuff?

Grab a test light and check for power at the coil. If no power check the connections at the firewall bulk head.

That and check power at both sides of the ballast resistor. If that doesn't reveal the problem, get a copy of the factory electronic ignition diagnostic manual to find any problems there.

don't forget the mag pickup down in the distributor...i had one go out on me that ran me all over the place trying to find my spark issue

to test the ignition system, unhook the two wire connector from the distributor and unhook the coil wire from the distributor cap.......hold the coil wire about a 1/4" from a ground and while the ignition is in the on position touch the male end of the distributor lead on another ground the coil should send out a spark...if it does not then the problem is in the ignition system and the distributor is ok....this was a "shocking" accidental learning experience
