I’ve installed an MSD box and distributor( non hei) and have no spark. Is the mopar ignition controller necessary?

NO. What did you do to hook it up?
Where and how did you connect the "small red?"
Exactly what wires go to the coil and does the radio supression cap and tach hook to the coil?
Where did you hook the "large" red and black?
What are you triggering it with, that is, which distributor? And how did you connect it.
I could spend all day asking questions, it would be much easier if you describe what you did
Go out and Google a version of the destruction manual, and reference what page/ diagram you used as a basis (from MSD)
