so my 360 refuses to take throttle or show any power at all. It idles fine but as so as it’s in gear and i touch the throttle i get no response or a backfire or it dies. Any ideas? Carb is less than a year old and it’s timed 10 before at idle. Brand new plugs put in today and a new fuel pump.

Well that’s an open question.

What are the particulars as far as ingnition system and carb? Please tell us more of your setup.

Have you done compression checks, or anything. If you want help you can get it here but you need to give a lot more information.

When you open the throttle on a carbed motor there is a drop is manifold vacuum. This causes the fuel in the air stream to "drop out". To compensate for this the carb will squirt gas into the air stream. What you describes sounds like a problem with the accelerator circuit that is responsible for squirting the extra gas. Usually it's from some tiny particle or the gumming up of the passages that blocks the squirt.

I'd check for that first as it should be an easy fix. If it's not the problem, then you can look at other things.

Possible jumped timing chain, or balancer ring slipped and the timing isn't what you think it is.
