Hello, I'm the average broke, no car, unemployed 17yo, I just got into the car scene in a more serious sense recently (although I have generally been into cars for a long time already)

I found this place from a friend while we were discussing about modifying cars, (primarily a 'cuda)

Welcome! Sounds like if your aspiration is going to grow "wheels" (lol), a job is in order for you.

Welcome. Broke kids/students and tinkering/fixing old Mopars generally don’t go hand in hand.

You mention a ‘cuda. Is it yours or your friends? If it’s his then best not to sink any money you might find in your sofa cushions into it. If it’s yours, post a photo of it!

No, we were just discussing about old 60s/70s cars, neither of us have one, but we both have an interest in them.

It would likely be easier and cheaper to start with a more recent vehicle, and one you can dump if storage becomes a problem. On other hand, the early cars are pretty easy to work on, and get far more comments than any jelly bean built recently. Mechanical parts to keep it running are mostly available. Trim parts, interior parts, body panels are the challenge.
Plus, You have so much help available that we didn't have 40+ years ago. I am thankful to many folks who have bothered to answer my questions. And yewtube.
