I`m here in SE Va. and we have been getting hammered by a brutal nor`easter for two and half days now and we still have to endure another day tomorrow. It`s already rained 8 inches here in Newport News, winds are gusting to 70 mph (there`s a tree branch through the roof of my porch), tides are running almost 8 feet over normal, 130,000 people have no power and there`s widespread flooding. This is as bad as hurricane Isabel we had early in the decade.

Batten down the hatches,Longgone. I see your power is still on or are you on a laptop?Sounds pretty wild alright.Cover up the bcuda, lol. Hope it blows over soon.:-|

I hope the weather breaks for you soon... and that all the storm damage isnt too bad.. Hang tight..

I believe you are getting the remnants of hurricane Ida that brought flooding rains to us here in the southeast. You guys stay dry.

After looking at the weather channel it looks REAL bad, Schools closed and the tide water area is getting hammered like longgone is saying,This is Bad
Hang on to something and be careful over there Longgone.
7 death's on the east coast already, heading up to New York and Providens area tomorrow.
Keep us updated Longgone :sad6:

Sorry to hear Longgone....... 8" is what we get all year!!

Keep you and your family safe bud....

I guess this is the price you pay for living on the coast. The thing about this storm is we never thought it would be quite as bad as it`s been and it`s just going on and on and on..........

Ida was a sleeper and know is bringing in tall waves of the ocean and storms of heavy down falls of rain, It going to hang there through out tomorrow
Stay safe and keep us updated Longgone !!!

Thanks guys , this storm has really caught us off guard, we`re still expecting as much as 4-6 inches of additional rain before this thing runs it`s course. With high winds and the ground so saturated, a lot of trees are expected to go down. We still might lose power before this things over. We`ve had wind speeds of 75mph, higher than when Ida made landfall. I really hope it clears up by Saturday because instead of pulling that tree branch from the porch roof right away I`d like to delay it a day and take the Dart to a show. :-D

8" of rain all year..............that`s why everybody wants those old Mopars from Arizona.

I was wondering how you were making out with the storm, looks like Newport News is getting drowned...good luck with all that.

Hey Longgone.Hope all is well with you after this monster. Lost power 3 different times here, but longest outage was 6hrs. and seems like it is back on to stay since wind is down to about 20mph.( we had a reported 68 mph gust at the suffolk airport last night) My garage and utility room suffered some minor flooding( no damage to cars) after 11 inches of rain. Wow what a storm. Hope all the members affected up & down the east coast made out OK.

Glad to hear you rode out this one without too much trouble. We`ve been lucky here, the power went out but only momentarily. There are many over in Hampton that still don`t have power. I heard today that about 330,000 people were affected. I`m glad the worst of that storm is gone.

This does not bode well for this coming winter for the northeast coast. I think they have already had four noreasters since August.

Hope you guys are well. My father is north of you in the Richmond area, I should call and check on him.

With all that rain it is a good thing you have a "Barracuda" We got hammered with this storm for the past 3 days and the rain still has not stopped here in North Carolina. Keep Safe and keep us all updated if you can.

Richmond faired much better than the cities on the coast but still got a lot of rain. I don`t think it was enough to cause any real problems.

The Outer Banks got hammered all right, and lost a lot of the dunes. TWC showed a cottage going into the ocean. :-({|= That`s got to be heartbreaking! This storm has stayed around much too long!:banghead: Hope you guys are all okay down there.
