Not an A body but it is turbod

Judging by your skill I bet you can make it fit. That would be awesome! How the FI tech treating you?
Ok this is just plain cool innovative thinking. Truck it may be but way cool on the build. I appreciate the creative solutions as I am encountering many creative issues stuffing a modern Hemi in my Demon. This is the kind of stuff we all dig, sleeper truck! Keep us posted on next evolution.

Chineseium goodness arrived today. We modified the wastegate reference location.

Back in action!! New China Turbo and changing the wastegate reference completely changed the part throttle AFR tune for the better, little bit safer. More testing, adjusting and of course burnouts!!! Need to go to fuel injection! Haha. Will be fabbing up a wastegate dump/recirculation pipe and playing with boost in the next couple of weeks.

Friday in the shop, love it! Fabbed up the wastegate dump to downpipe, changed spring in wastegate, crudely checked the wastegate spring tension in the valve spring tester.....haha.... still 4lbs initially but ramps to 6-7 with some rpm. Still safe on my AFRs but anymore boost and I need to start adding fuel. Turbine may be a little large for this little 318.

Update: nothing exciting except I got “winter tires” for the rear. We don’t get much here in NC but i will be ready. I’m hoping to dyno it in the next couple of weeks. Boost is at 6lbs now. I will keep ya updated. Been driving it almost daily and all is good. 318 FTW!!!

New parts arrived last night. FI tech 600 PA. I have been on the fence for months about which to buy, Holley or Fitech. Found one local for a good price so that helped make up my mind. Also debated on the truck or duster but I drive this truck way more. Gonna try to install this weekend if it’s not raining/sleeting. Subcom, be paitient with me as I start to have questions.
We will redyno after and see if we have picked up any power. Timing control will be added in the upcoming months.

Got the FITech installed this morning. It was cold!! 37 degrees is what the coolant temp showed. Had to make some mods to the brackets for the throttle and kickdown cables. Shaved down the throttle shaft some. Need to change to a pan head cap screw on the throttle linkage, it gets close to the injector wires. Pictures of the fuel lines coming tomorrow. My battery died on my phone during the install. It’s on and running. So far it’s living up to the hype. Hit the key and it fired and idled. Throttle is crisp! Gonna tidy up some wiring and recheck some settings and then we are on the maiden voyage! Can’t wait!! Enjoy the pics

It been raining all day but I was able to start to clean up some wiring and got most of the preliminary settings taken care of. Drove the truck around the block and it feels super responsive. Came back home and it’s spraying gas from the gas tank area. Maybe my return line came loose with me redoing it yesterday. Here are pics of the artistry I did to the fuel line. Used what I had and removed the regulator. I will clean it up when the fittings arrive next week.

Dropped the gas tank the the 27yo factory quick connect rubber supply line is like chewing gum where it crimps on to the metal line. Guess the "new" gas finally took its toll with the added ethanol. Ordered some fittings earlier and will get this small issue sorted out once they arrive. Keep yall posted.

Got the tank out and cut the supply fuel line back. Found the hole. Look at what the ethanol in the gas does to old rubber. I may have overthought this fuel line redo. I ordered a bunch of tube adapters, pushlock AN fittings, etc. Decided to go get a quick connector from Advance. It’s not gonna work. Figured I would try to cut/grind the factory crimp off the factory quick connect. Some Flap wheel action and we are done. So now I’m gonna just use some fuel injection hose and clamps and make the short connections. I’m ready to drive this thing!! Hopefully install tomorrow.

Fuel line repaired and I put about 30 miles on it tonight. Have some IAC and accel pump fueling adjustments to make but it’s holding AFRs under boost and is responsive. Gonna change wastegate spring and try for 8psi. Make while driving tonight was only 4.8..

She lures you in with the promise of big power while secretly using 30% more and eating away at your fuel line.. I still may try it one day.

Still impressed with the FITech unit. Seeing as how I like to spend money, my cousin found a Mopar M1 EFI magnum manifold about 1 1/2 hours away and I had to have it. Met the guy at like midnight when he got off work. I may try to use this on the magnum build with port injection and megasquirt on a Future build.

Update: some people were asking

Truck is doing fine, FITech is getting zeroed in and overall I’m impressed. Did some PM on the waterpump, timing cover, valve cover. Wonder why the seal leaked? jK :). Check out the timing chain slop!! Nope I didnt change it!! Pics for your amusement.

Drone last night did an intersection crossing burnout and then pow!!! The trans started shifting funny and I had a vibration. Crawled under it and found the bolts were gone in the trans mount. Transmisson moves under acceleration and bent the kickdown bracket. Maybe I never tightened them fully. I will repair tonight and the beatings will continue!!

Update: Went to rockingham Mopar show today. Really windy and we had some bad storms last night. Drove the truck down there averaged 12mpg at 70 mph and 2900rpm. Ran it in test and tune. It had a huge lean big off the line ( not sure why ) but it started making it up on the big end. 15.30 @93 with a 3.03 60ft. I was a little disappointed. It does fine the whole way there and then it does this. I have more tuning to do! Also forgot to datalog!!! Here is the video for your amusement
