Instead of getting pissed off watching the Steelers I went to Church, took a 30 minute power nap and hit the shop as I needed a nice day that I could push the duster outside. Usually I store the duster frontend in my trailer over the winter but since I have bodywork to do on it I had to come up with a way to remove it myself and store it out of the way. A quick trip to Harbor Freight and Lowes I bought the needed parts for my plan. I think this will work fine then after I get the chassis work done I can lower it back down. You can see how much easier it is to work on now with it off.

Looks like you are toeing out a bit John. Have you figured out what got bent yet?

That's pretty ingenious John! Now you've given me ideas on how to set up my garage for winter storage as I want to have my front end handy as it needs some minor fiberglass repair and paint touch up during the off season.

When I tell you guys I carry a lot of spare parts to the track here’s a great example. When I bought my Daytona in the early 2000’s I was given this as a spare. It was in my 1st enclosed trailer, then put in my “lucky box” in my new trailer. It will now be put to use. Lol

Do you figure the damage was from the impact with the wall, or the hard landing?

So the “stockish” Duster has been unmasked!!! 2200lb borderline pro mod! That and your relentless pursuit of mineshaft conditions to gather those ungod quick slips for the equipment used! We’ve been took!!
…..glad you‘re getting her put back together. So any strut valving changes or wheelie bars to try and prevent this in the future? I don’t think I’ve hit my bars a handful of times since working with Afco on my shock package.

If I kept my lightweight son out of the car and quit racing the end of August I would probably be ok. But that’s not gonna happen. I should have the frontend repairs down today so I can do an alignment and see if I have a snowballs chance of making the race at Keystone next weekend. Years ago the guy that did the frontend upgrades recommended a weight bar so I started researching that. My small tire car would probably get wheelie bars before the black one. For some reason money has been a little tight this year so there’s that too.

Frontend is back together. Now I can double check everything else, throw the tire on, and set my toe alignment. Nice little bend in this sucker.

And today we jumped to the rear of the car to refresh myself on some fiberglass body work. Gotta take advantage of this nice weather
