Probably last two digits in the engine code. Example; x75 meaning 440 automatic transmission, no a/c, no power steering, power brakes, standard fan and no cruise control.
#526 = 273 x 2bbl, auto, no power brakes/steering, standard fan and no C.A.P. Engine code for this on the order sheet was 30. On the buildsheet it had #30 for engine but on the same sheet #526 so they knew exactly what was added or deleted on the engine before final assembly.
 
Engine assembly number and the code of the proper linkage to go with the assembly. The assembly number is the same as shown on the Broadcast Sheet.

Was on a 68 newport 383 2 barrels
