NYC in color pictures from the 40's

Absolutely wonderful.
It's just slightly before my time, but I can assure you that I do remember many scenes just like those growing up in Newark, N.J. in the 50's. Not too much changed in the complexion for the neighborhoods back then.

Thank you for some wonderful memories.

Especially love the McSorley's pictures. Drank many a "dark" at that place. When its crouded, they kick you out for not drinking fast enough. I remember once my buddy got kicked out for puking in more than one location on the floor. Those were some fun times! I'll have to look for some pictures.

When I first stated going there in the early 80's they had only one big unisex bathroom. The guys stand and the girls use the booths. I dont think women were allowed in the place until sometime in the 70's.

The homeless really knew how to dress back then.

cool pics, one of the last ones, the shot up Wall Street looking at Trinity Church hasnt changed a bit, i was just there 2 yrs ago.

My Grampa used to talk about going to Chop Suey Houses.

Thanks for the interesting photos.
