Oddball car - swap to disc - ideas?

Save yourself a LOT of money on the axle, and get a 66/67 B body axle.

No need to cut it down in a 29 body.

He means the demon/duster/dart sport body style.

I don't know why some people want to use the 23 and 29 codes, they weren't exclusive or even inclusive without the letter codes. A "23" body is a Dart, but it's also a Barracuda. Not only that, but an E body barracuda was a 23 body too. And a dart convertible is a 27 body. A sport fury is a 23 body. Makes no sense to just use the number code.

Here's a full list, you'll see what I mean.

This thread is about a Dart Sport.

Sorry if I wasn't clear.

Why cut down a C body axle when a 66/67 B drops in?

The reasoning behind the C body is:
  • I already own it - $$$
  • The longer term idea for this car is a 'super stock' feel with a set of 15x3.5 and 15x14 Cragar Super Tricks, Tunnel ram'd big block. If I can get to the 2nd stage of the build then any axle I have will need to be cut down and new axles.
I might as well use what I have lying around....

Just to clarify a common misnomer/wives tale.

The disks on 68 Hemi S/S cars were NOT retrofitted Bendix B body parts. The Hemi A-bodies had special Kelsey Hays hubs and rotors machined with large bolt pattern and large hub center register. And they used the same calipers, LCA's, and UCA's as regular '68 disk brake A-bodies.
Good to know, thanks for correcting this.
My info came from something i read awhile back about the Hemi SS cars........
