Off to check out a new toy

I would love to fly out and drive home. I did that with a tool truck. Flew from NE Iowa to Dallas, Picked out a truck and drove it home. It was an adventure.
I drove it pulling my car trailer.

Car was better then described so after many C notes it’s mine. 32 Desoto, 360, 727 8 3/4

that is pretty awesome, glad to hear you found a good seller

i dont think i could tell the difference between that DeSoto and a 32 ford

I have a bunch of pictures from crossing Nevada, they look just like yours. Whole lot of nothing out there, and miles and miles of long straight roads.

my wife is originally from Chile, probably the worlds narrowest country, 2600 miles north to south, but only 216 miles across
it is a very interesting climate, desserts up north, penguins down south

anyway, we were visiting there one day and were driving from the capital to the place her mom was born
i plugged the address in the GPS and the GPS said, get on the highway, and in 600 miles, turn left

Still there, now called America’s car museum
Back in the 80s, I read that Holiday Inn bought all of Harrah's but weren't interested in the auto collection and were going to auction most of it. There were many large warehouse looking buildings with over 700 cars, a few boats, and several airplanes. Never went back after that.

Lots of scrub brush in Nevada, most of it was incredible to see.

I was an truck driver for 36 years before I was retired. 3.5 million accident free miles.
My friends think I'm nuts because I'll drive hundreds of miles just for car parts. What they don't understand is that it's not just about the parts, it's also about the experience. The travel. You can't see America from your front door, you have to get out and drive. Spend days on the road chatting with locals in small towns and taking the time to appreciate the beauty of the country. In fact, I just got back yesterday from New Mexico after picking up a rear end.

Beautiful car, by the way!

That whole scenario would be a nightmare for me nowadays. I'd about have to have a little camper for naps, and "unpredicted" access to some sort of porta-you-know-what. Even so, just sitting, and driving for hours would be a real tough "go."

I think the longest trip I ever did was from Portland to San Diego in one long day and I was in my 20's then

Left Salina this morning, very cold out, light snow overnight but most gone early.

Snow was chasing us across Colorado and caught us on Vail pass. Got home about 6pm, 2200 miles start to finish. Good friend and I saw some incredible country the last 4 days.

Del, you would be fine, we would just pull over when we were doing the pee pee dance. Highway 50 isn’t called the loneliest road in the US for nothing. Lots of places to pull over for a nap

That is a CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCcccooooooooooooooooooooooolllllllllllllll lookin old ride!!
