Has anyone ever used this Offenhauser dual 4bbl lowrise intake ?
Model is 5615, similar to the old D66 but you can use Holley carbs on this one.
Thanks !

i cant remember which magazine did the article, but the test engine was a mild 383 mopar.they tested everything from the performer all the way up to a weiand tunnel ram.they did test the bb version of what you have pictured and it did not do well.most of the single carb intakes made a little more power and the tunnel rams they tested crushed it across the entire rpm range.ive personally never run it.if i were to run a dual carb intake other than a t-ram id look for a different design .

How about this one then by Weiand ??

i have that intake on the shelf.ive also run it on my 340 in my dart.its a really tight fit around the dizzy.its more streetable than you think, but still very much a high rpm piece.the edelbrock street tunnel ram is much better choice if its going on a street car.there is one currently on my 340.great throttle response when teamed with a set of 390 cfm holleys.spins the tires at a light stab, with outstanding mid and upper rpm power.

I like the height of this one, how does it compare with the Edelbrock in size ?

Are you sure that Offy can use Holleys?

I can't see the Holleys use in line on the Weiand.

The Offy 5615 has small 318 ports and EGR to heat up the incoming air.
The Weiand 1995 is a nice looking piece and Im pretty sure it has small 318 ports too.

Both are available new from Jegs/Summit. The 5615 are what blower manifolds are made from.

I tell you right now its no way

Only difference between it and the D66 is the edle is dual plan vs a single plane with a divider. I never ran both but was told they are about equal....offy did make some with big 340 ports, no longer made but you never know what goes up for sale..I love to try to big port offy someday

Says it can (looks tight to me) but I wouldn't have an issue using Carters. Don't suppose anyone has a D66 laying around they aren't using ???
Nope, mines bolted to my 340 and isn't coming off..even today in 39 degree temps, the carters fire right up and idle good while the engine is cold...better then any holley ever did and still has great WOT with both secondary air doors removed..in fact I swear it pulls better and throttle response is smoother-more even...I have both carbs hook up 1 to 1

Hey 'dodge freak', is that wood that your coil is mounted to?

Yeah yeah, I didn't want t drill anymore holes in the firewall so I bolted some wood I had laying around to the holes already there and drilled new holes in the wood. I used so some wood for a battery tray as well, same where the MSD 7al box is mounted

Love this set up, wouldn't be nice if somebody made intakes for something other than a sbc !!!

Only Indy makes a multi carb set up for the small block MoPar guys. There Mod Man with interchangeable tops. 1x4, 2x4, 6pack and supercharger intake. MoPar & Edelbrock have the 6 pack intake. There not made every year. Only every couple of years for a little while.

Its almost one good reason to go BBM...if I had to do it all over again--from the ground up, I would had built a 400 engine, about the same stroke and little larger bore and more HP parts for it..intakes, exhausts, heads

I was digging around to answer the OP's question for myself, as well as the operating range for the manifold. I found the answer in Offenhauser's 1981 or 1987 catalog.

I have the 5488, which to the best of my understanding is identical to the 5615 except for the bolt flange angle. I cut on mine, and got some spherical washers to fit it to the 1966 and later LA heads.

Here are some screenshots from the catalog. Page five and twenty-one of the PDF of the catalog.

If I am reading their tables right it seems to me, depending on your cam and carburetion that torque is between 3,000 and 7,000 and horse power between 2,500 and 7,500. All the more reason to go with a solid cam instead of the hydraulic roller that came with my 1991 LA360.

Looks like AFB carbs only. I will be buying a pair of the Eddie AVS2 carbs in 500cfm size when they finally release them for sale.

In reference to post #11, I am going to be adding material to the outsides of the runners so I can port match to my 308 heads (or the Trick Flow 190's when they come out this fall and if I scrounge up the money).
