Just removed the rear end from a 72 Dart Swinger and the front bushes are the smaller 38mm dia ones.
The MP offset spring hangers I have take the larger bolt as in 50mm bushes.
Has anyone had this before?
How do you overcome it?
I can think of 2 ways.
1.Cut the nut off the hanger and weld a smaller one on and weld a washer on the other side to reduce that hole.
2.Get some 50mm bushed springs. They did come on the last of the V8 Valiants in Oz so they are around.Would just have to find some.

Any other ideas?

u can drill a new hole in the boxes also...the hole is too high and too far forward anyway...

Took your advice and went this way.
All went well.
My 28x10.5x15 slicks on 15x8.5 autodrags even fit!!!:-D
Just:???:

It does mean that I'll get 275/60/15 street rubber under there no worries though=D>

Can anyone post a pic of the new drilled hole location ?

I can describe what I did for you.
The hole is in line with the bottom pair of mounting studs. This is a bit lower than std but I did this to compensate a little for saggy springs.

On the front-rear axis I put the hale abt 5mm rearward of the factory location(measure it off your factory mount)to provide a little more tyre clearance for 28" tyres at the front lower point of the wheel arch where it gets mighty close!!!

The hole could go wherever you wanted it to be but that's the reasoning behind where I placed mine.

Hope this helps.

Edit : If you still want a pic I can get one tomorrow for you. It's a bit dark outside atm being after 10pm in this part of the world!!! LOL
