When I took my 360 to the machine shop, I forgot to take off the plate and fitting for the stock oil filter. The shop returned them loose. I can't find anything in the service manual about how they go or where the gasket and seals go. Sure feel stupid!!! Any help?

The plate goes on first and is held in place by the fitting. You should get the gaskets in your rebuild kit. There is a large paper one that seals the outside of the plate to the block. And a small one (cork) that goes between the plate and the block . I think there is a third gasket (a thin paper one) that goes between the fitting and the plate. My mind is on vacation tonight and I hope I'm not telling you wrong. While you have the plate off go ahead and drill another oil hole in between the other four holes.

Jeff,

Thanks for the help. What is the extra hole for? Just better oil flow?

Thanks again,
Mike
