Oil pan question

Will the early and late model a-body small block oil pans interchange? I'm planning on putting an early 70's 318 in my 65 Valiant wagon this winter.

Sure, they will interchange on the motors, as I have an early a body pan on my 68 right now. It has the old style gasket ends, the one with all the little rubber tits, and is not as good at sealing as the later model pan.

I think the later model oil pan, may run into some idler arm interference on the early abody application though. But I am not positive, just read it somewhere.
