Oil pump gasket

This is probably a dumb question, but being the first time for installing oil pump it appears the last oil pump was permatex on...is this necessary

This will probably start a debate but I've never used a gasket between pump and main cap on any build. Very good oil pressure with no issues.

After posting saw some other debates, but the pump came with one and the old pump looked like it had some gasket sealer on it

just use the gasket. no sealer and make sure it's sitting all the way down before you start trying to bolt it up :glasses7:
