oil pump pick up

If you ever put a new chain in a 318 that shelled the plastic coated stock timing chain, a new pick up is cheap insurance. The teeth often wind up inside the screen, and can be difficult to completely remove.
My cheap overhaul consists of a new steel chain, double roller if possible, either a new pump or at least the high pressure black spring installed in a good used pump, and the 340 windage tray. And recently added, the timing chain tensioner originally installed in 3.9 V6's. Then you can wear the thing out and still it won't skip time!
I can get the part numbers if you need them.

I read in Jim Scalyzgi's book "How to build big inch Mopar small blocks" that the stock one is restrictive and to replace it with a milodon unit cause it has larger internal i.d. and will help keep the oil circuit charged properly. Summit has them listed for stock pans.
