I went to install the timing cover on my new 360 build and realized that it didn't have an oil slinger when I tore it down, it's an '89 roller motor. Should I hold off and get one or will it hurt to move forward without it?? Thanks

Slingers were sort of hit and miss. Some had them and some didn't. If your '89 wasn't leaking out the front seal I wouldn't worry about it.

I like them, but if you want to put it together, many guys don't bother.

Their cheap and you can get them right from your local dealer in a day or two. To me its a little peice of mind.

You might check your old oil galley plug that is just behind your cam chain, mine had about a .040 dia. hole in the center for chain oiling.

I think Chrysler wouldn`t have installed them if they didn`t serve a useful purpose. I agree with Fishman, head down to the local Dodge dealer and help out Chrysler while contributing to the economy.
