Oil type

Hi folks. On my 66 Dart 273ci, what oil would you recommend? So far, I’ve been using Valvoline Racing Oil (with zinc) 10w-30. Runs well, but I’ve heard of some using 10w-40.

I’m in Texas so warm summers.

Is there a certain viscosity and also oil brand that works better for those of you with this engine?

I'd stick with what you're using. It's good oil.

10/30,10/40,15/40 or even 20/50 would be fine in it.

20w/50 VR1 would be my choice during the summer heat.
VR1 is a good oil, no reason to switch the brand, maybe just switch up viscosity, depending on what temp the engine run's during certain time of year.
It was pretty cut and dry for me when I daily drove, 20w/50 spring oil change, 10w/30 fall change.
