On the cusp of A-body ownership: Help me with a 1969 Valiant!

Looks as if trudysduster's car has a protection package (nomenclature?) on it with the side molding.
When I was researching this car, I was hard pressed to find one without the trim, come to think of it.

Started her up today on a fresh tank of gas, clean 10W-30 in the crankcase, and the carb. Crank to start was immediate.
The huge hole in the muffler made the test runs deafening, but it did great. Even dropped by the gas station to fill up a bit in the tank.
There is an occasional misfire, though I dare say that is probably a fouling plug. I'll look into it soon as I replace the exhaust.
In the meantime, I pulled out this little trinket from the back seat:
