Option tires for my 69' Dart Swinger 340

-
Do

You have an automatic? I did my own calculations today and the 115 tires will not fit on a manual car, the tire will hit the welded plate for then "Z" bar connection on the frame. Looks like the tires will fit without that plate as in an automatic. So I guess my only choice of tire will be the 205 70 / 14 Coker T/A, with the Michelin mold.
Correct, 727 TorqueFlite. I also have a 4-speed 1969 340 Swinger. When I got the car years ago it had 215s on the front, but on Rallye wheels. No rubbing, but the Rallye is a different wheel (offset/backspace) than the steelie.

FWIW, I went with 205s on Cragars on the Swinger when I replaced the 215s in 2023.

Why did you change back to the 205's? What brand is your 205's. My test shows the 215 will work, but you can't turn sharp. The reason I'm leaning towards the 205's.

As I understand it

If I recall correctly, Swingers came with D70s and GTSs came with E/70s. D70 closest match is a 195 and E70 closest match is a 205. I went with the BFG T/A 205/70-R14s on the Swinger because the 195 appeared to too small in my mind. Attached is a picture just after I raised the front end a bit - I like the stance.

This is a 4spd with crager 14" x 6" on the front and crager 14" x 7" on the rear. Front tires are BFG 215 X 70 and rears are BFG 245 X 60. No rubbing of any kind. Did occasionaly rub when reversing and turning along with hitting the bottom of the driveway where it meets the road. This was with 225x70 14. Swapped out to the 215 and no issues. Very close but no contact.
