I had a wheel off my Duster to tighten up the center cap bolts and add RTV, and I pulled the brake drum to look at the wheel studs. They were shorter than I thought, only about 1-7/8" if I remember correctly. If I found wheel studs the right length to permit a 3/4" wheel spacer, I'll bet I could tap out the old studs and put longer ones in without pulling the axle shafts.
