Ordered U-bolts too long.

Got my U bolts in today and they are way too long, I guess I didnt catch the length. Can I just put some spacers in between the nut and the shock plate? IM not gonna drive the car anytime soon, just roll it around.

If it ain't a 100 point show car. Why don't you put it together
and cut off the excess. I use a 3 in. cut off tool. Cut the
extra and then use the side of the blade to contuer the end.
Just a thought?

Make sure that you put a nut on there before you cut!! Or put on a die to recut the threads. I marked mine then cut them in my vice with a sawzall.

if they are "way" to long, maybe they don't have threads where he needs them, hence the spacers?

Correct, with the nut all the way up, I still need another half inch at least.

Most parts stores can get the ones that will work. Mine were too long too but had enough thread. toolmanmike

I would run a die on the u bolts and add an inch of threads
