I install the new p/s box started it up and the fluid foamed up. I seen a set screw beside the pressure line so turned it until it stopped foaming. So i thought i was good mm no. I turned the steering wheel back and forth then i noticed the pump humming. I just about ran it dry. So i added more fluid while it was running. I shut the car off and the fluid came gushing out of the pump like it was under pressure. It did that twice until i gave up for the day. Whats going on ? This is my first new box. I never had to replace one before so this is all new.

Also best to let it run for awhile so the air bubbles work their way out.
The air compresses in the pump and expands again when you shut it off.

Actually it may be better next time you try it, just because some of the air has had a chance to settle out of the fluid that’s already in it.
